Arctic Ice Tundra Series Reusable Cooler Pack, 0.75-Pound
Arctic Ice maintains lower temperatures longer than ice or “blue” ice substitutes. This cooler insert’s reusable active ingredient, PureTemp is a non-toxic, biodegradable phase-change material (PCM) derived from plants. When Arctic Ice approaches its melting point (that’s the phase change) it begins absorbing more heat while stubbornly refusing to warm up. It holds a constant, pre-defined temperature until the entire cooler pack finally thaws. The Alaskan Series freezes at 1 Degree Celsius (33.8 Degrees Fahrenheit) and efficiently keeps food and drinks chilled much longer than the same volume of ice. For optimal performance, freeze Alaskan packs in any household freezer for at least eight hours prior to use.

When they are new, they work well… I’ve used both the 2.5 and 5# freezer blocks for several years. When they are new they work well, but drastically decline. I own an ice cream company and we use these to ‘replace’ dry ice for some applications. After many cycles of thawing and freezing they have ALL now lost their efficacy. (We have about 15 or so of these in the two sizes.) Definitely not a dry ice replacement as they claim to be. After about 20+ cycles, they just don’t freeze as cold anymore or stay frozen as long. I…
Place in a deep freezer (-10/-20 degrees F) the work great. Also
