It works great for my wok, and luckily my 4-pronged cast iron wok stand fits it perfectly. I was a bit paranoid about some of the reviews mentioning low heat output and such. I mainly wanted this for outdoor wok cooking, and because of that high heat was a concern of mine. However, having tried this thing out, I find it hard to believe there are many normal cooking tasks this burner couldn’t handle. It took me about an hour to fully blue, then season a brand new carbon steel wok, then cook my first meal with it. I spent nearly 2 hours trying to blue my first wok on my gas stovetop…
Better Quality Control Required I ordered this previously from Amazon many years ago, and that worked like a champ. I ordered a second one for a friend, with not so good results… Fired it up for the first time to boil a ham and couldn’t get the flame adjusted. Had to keep using it until the ham was cooked. What a mess with the soot on the pot. Disassembly and inspection revealed that the burner was internally clogged with casting sand, and the sand had been painted over with silver paint. Cooks up fast for a large group of people in no time!!! This outdoor cooker was very easy to assemble. The flame this fryer releases is amazing. once assembled, I boiled a pot of hot water just to burn off the paint. The smell wasn’t as bad as I imagined but it did have a minute stench to it. once done I fried up 20 lbs of wing flings and eight pounds of whitings fish to feed a group of people in no time.I was amazed at how beautiful and powerful the blue flame was.
