Cobra remains the best! I grew up with CB Radio. KYV-5151 was my dad’s call sign from his FCC license (they no longer give them out anymore, although the Cobra ACXT1035R manual makes it appear that you need one – you don’t, the FCC automagically issues them to all citizens as a “rule.”) and I remember him having a CB radio to make sure we were protected from Smokey Bears and we would get into convoys and talk with truckers and it was loads of fun.Then along came really good car audio, radar…
Works so good! The only part of the ship it didn’t … We bought these for our cruises. Works so good! The only part of the ship it didn’t work was when we were on the main deck, 16, we couldn’t get a hold of someone below on deck 5. In sure this had something to do with it being all metal down there with no windows because it worked in level 6 that had windows. We automatically set our radios up on a private channel so we didn’t have conflicting radios with other passengers. We would also “call/ring” to get the other persons attention…
Great waterproof floating radios from Cobra (can be used by adults and children). I will like to rescind my prior review on this product. My first purchased was of a refurbished set, which came without instructions. One of the units became locked and I could not change or shut off the unit. I sent them back. I reorder a brand new set, which came with instructions but did not use them since I had already used the prior set and knew the basic functions.
