The Cobra CXR925 is a Micro TALK 2-way radio, two pack with up to a 35 mile range. This unit consists of 22 channels, 142privacy codes (38 CTCSS codes/ 104 DCS codes) and comes complete with 2 rechargeable lithium ion battery packs, and a 2-port desktop mini-charger. This unit also features a 10 channel NOAA radio for storm and emergency alerts, as well as a Rewind- Say-Again digital voice recorder which allows you to playback the last 20 seconds of audio, transmit saves messages, and record messages to yourself. Additional features of the CXR925 include hands-free operation VOX, VibrAlert silent paging, call alert 10 selectable tones, a backlit LCD display, a scanning function channels/ privacy codes, a single pin speaker/ microphone/ charge jack, a 10 channel memory, selectable hi/low power in GMRS, key lock, roger beep (selectable on/off), key stroke tones Selectable on/off , a battery low indicator, battery/ power saver mode, signal strength meter, auto squelch, a maximum range extender, and a belt clip. Poor volume issue with Cobra CXR925 purchase. I recently bought a pair of these Cobra MicroTalk CXR925 two-way radios to use as ‘test’ replacement radios for our 6.5 acre, 4 building mini-campus (mostly we purchased based on various strong customer reviews and the longer charge life of lithium batteries, which we need for a full 8 Hr workday’s usage.) Very Good, but not Great. Bought these to use on our acreage. They work great, even in our tin shed (where our cell phones don’t work at all). I bought this set because of the large batteries and so far the battery life has been good. We have used them for 12+ hours at a time and when I throw them on the charger they might charge for a couple minutes and are full again, though we don’t talk much so they are in power save mode most of the time. The thing I don’t like about them is the talk button The thing I don’t like about them is the talk button. It’s a microswitch under a cushy pad that looks like a full button instead of a full button. So, you feel around the cushy pad until you feel the switch.Wife and I have only used these a couple weeks for the three floor house and 10 acres.
