About Coleman
More than 100 years ago, a young man with an entrepreneurial spirit and a better idea began manufacturing lanterns in Wichita, Kansas. His name was W.C. Coleman, and the company he founded would change life in America. A man plagued with such poor vision he sometimes had to ask classmates to read aloud to him, Coleman saw a brilliant light in 1900 in a drugstore window that stopped him in his tracks. He inquired about the light inside and discovered he was able to read even the small print on a medicine bottle by the illumination. The lamps had mantles, not wicks, and were fueled by gasoline under pressure instead of coal oil. Soon afterward, Coleman started a lighting service that offered a “no light, no pay” clause–a big step forward for merchants who were burned by inferior products that rarely worked–and drew substantial interest from businesses that wanted to keep their lights on after dark.
In the ensuing years, Coleman expanded its product line well beyond lanterns. The company’s current catalog is thick with products that make spending time outdoors a pleasure. There are coolers that keep food and drinks cold for days on end, comfortable airbeds that won’t deflate during the night, a complete line of LED lights that last for years, powerful portable grills that cook with an authentic open-grill flame, and much, much more. Coleman has truly fashioned much of our outdoor camping experience, and expects to do so for generations to come.

Not everything I had hoped for. I bought this chair to use in my ground blind while deer hunting. I had previously been using three legged stools or 5 gallon buckets but I wanted something with a back rest. The chair is lightweight and portable but seems to be fairly durable for it’s weight. It is not to hard to carry through the woods. The back rest is too far back to be very useful. If you lean all the way back it almost feels like you are laying down, however this can be adjusted by using a spacer such as a…
I’ve not seen a suitable alternative that’s this light I’ve had one of Coleman’s older model chairs similar to this for about 30 years… aluminum frame, light as a feather, but the cloth is looking like it will let go any time now, so I got this one to replace it. Other folks that complained about this chair leaning back too far were right…. it is a poor design. But, I went to the wood shop and cut a small piece of wood to fit on the back support and added a couple rubber bumpers on it…. problem solved. The cloth feels durable, and the chair…
Great seat, and a backrest, too! Terrific little chair, just what I was looking for to take out sketching and open air painting. Originally, I had thought about getting a small stool, but realized I’d be very uncomfortable on the smaller seat, and without a back to lean against. I can add extra padding to this seat with my jacket, or a blanket stowed in the car. The four legs make it more stable as I work. And there’s a nice back to rest against. Folds up and fits right behind the driver’s seat (the backrest folds down). For…
