—> HOW TO INSTALL DRIVER FOR WINDOWS 7 <--- FIX & FIGURED OUT!First let me say that before I correctly installed the proper driver first, plugging the Cable into the Radio & the PC would put the Baofeng UV-5R into Transmit mode, and cause my PC to shut down. Here is how you fix that!Important: DO NOT plug in the cable to the radio until you get the driver installed. This may cause an excessive power demand from your PC’s USB port and cause shut down or damage. Here is the quick & easy way to install a…
Works flawlessly on newly released Baofeng UV-82HP + BF-F8HP 8watt radios. Purchased two of these for my Baofeng radios. Already purchased the $20.00 authentic FTDI cable, which needed drivers for Windows 7 64bit. Purchased two of these which was only a $5.00 gamble. Plugged it in my PC, self installed, no drivers needed! Setup the port by itself. I then used the authentic FTDI $20 cable + this one side by side. Could not tell the difference, performed flawlessly. Only difference with this one is it sets up a diff port number depending on what USB slot you plug it…

I eventually bought a third-party driver for around $8 that may or may not have worked. I’m running macOS Sierra beta so the installer would not work (macOS version too new).Having temporarily…
