Definitely think twice I’ll give a real review. I am a hunter and hiker in the Pacific Northwest. I bought the Rino 755t with massive expectations. Not having to carry a gps, camera and a walkie talkie, and having an all-in-one sounded great. The Rino seems pretty awesome at first, pretty easy to load up the maps you need before your hike/hunt. Everything else is great and fairly simple. The display and operating system are a bit archaic for 2017; display looks like an early 2000s flip phone. But the real problems…
Clumsy and lousy manual ClumsyI’ve got a Rino 755t and 650. They both work well, but the design is fairly horrible. First, the units are very clumsy. The enclosed carabiner clip mount is attached too low. So the unit is top heavy. The radio bobs, bounces, and the top wants to fall forward, instead of laying flat against your body. I won’t take the time to review the usefulness of the Rino system, but this device has already been extremely useful in its first hunting season and on about a dozen search and rescue missions. A number of us on the team have these devices and we use them to communicate when we’re down in a canyon and the issued radios don’t function. The clarity on the audio is ridiculous, I’ve never heard anything like it on a radio. Downloading the satellite imagery to the unit has been a lifesaver for…
