Review from a textiles engineer A bit of background: I’m the senior engineer at a shade sail/ architectural fabric manufacturing company. When you google “architectural fabric” – that’s the stuff I design every day. I was sick of bad umbrellas and those tacky department store canopies at the beach and this seems to be a decent solution.First off- this is the size you want. The smaller neso shelters are too small. The smaller size claims 2 or even 3 people but let’s be real… two will fit if you don’t…
Great for super windy beach days! Bought this product for use while camping at NC Outer Banks Hatteras Island beaches a month ago. As it turns out, the winds on our first day, according to the NOAA Weather service were 20-25mph with higher gusts. Kite surfers were having a ball out there. The sun was super bright on the white sand and my Neso Grande beach tent was the only tent that would stand up on the entire beach. One fellow had a tent for his infant nearby and he had to sit in it the entire time to anchor it in the winds…

We were anxious to get it because we spend a LOT of time at the beach on the Gulf….Took it out to use it immediately.Grommets started to pull out after 10 minutes of use. It was breezy as usual along the Gulf (10-15 mph) which is one of the reasons we wanted this as umbrellas don’t always hold well. We ordered another brand the same day so hoping it will hold up better. Don’t post many post reviews (first negative) but was really disappointed in the grommet problem. If other brand holds…
