She is the size of a 3 year old, so her feet hang out the sides–just zip the pocket below so their feet don’t get stuck. The backpack is adjustable, so the backpack has grown with her. Great for hiking My husband and I were really impressed with the quality and comfort the Kelty Journey 2.0 provided us and our 8 month old. I found it slightly more comfortable for my body type than my husband. The pack’s adjustments make it easy to distribute the weight evenly between your shoulders and hips so it is comfortable and doesn’t pull on my shoulders at all. Pretty good This backpack carrier is pretty good. I like all of the compartments for storage and our 16-month son fits in it perfectly. We did have to lower him in it after a small accident with a tree branch from our first hike, but the 2nd time out was even better. I’m larger and my husband is smaller, but we’ve managed to adjust it so we can both wear it. The shoulder straps are a little uncomfortable for me, so I’m still trying to tweak them a bit.
