Out of the box, difficult to assemble Like all army-surplus style cots, the end pieces stretch the canvas tight and lock into place. Easier when the materials are wood. This cot is heavy-gauge steel and heavy overall, initial setup was difficult because the end pieces don’t give at all. It took a lot of pulling and pushing to get the canvas to stretch enough to allow the end pieces to lock into place.
