Works within the first mile of the 18-mile range… The claim of an 18-mile range is false, at least for the pair I had purchased. It’s not a deal breaker as these were purchased as a gift for a child. I have found that the effective range is approximately 1 mile. Another flaw I found was that there is no indicator for the battery showing when it is fully charged. The ease of use and sound quality are fine. These were purchased two years ago and still work. Glad they’re rechargable as it would take 3 batteries per handheld.If…
Very clear, good radios… but definitely not 18-mile coverage. So, these cute little radios do a great job. I was driving cross country with another person (Oklahoma to Georgia), moving. These did a great job. They had great battery life, and unlike some other brands were clear as a bell. The only thing that wasn’t as pleasing is that, they definitely don’t get 18 miles of coverage.
