Strong Chemical Smell This microfiber fleece sleeping bag insert was everything I needed to keep my daughter and I warm in the cool nights of fall camping. The fleece is soft, the stitching appears to be quality, and it is very roomy. My only disappointment was the overpowering chemical smell that came with the insert. Not for real cold nights, great inside a sleeping bag on real cold nights, very soft, sheds a lot -Looks and feels great, super soft. Not heavy fleece, more medium-light weight.-Wish it could pack smaller, but even light fleece is only going to be so compact-able.-As far as warmth, it is as advertised and it for cool nights – not cold nights. This is not a stand alone sleeping bag unless it is late spring or summer – it is best used to line a standard sleeping bag for added warmth, or as a light blanket.
