Good value in a sturdy, comfortable sleeping pad This is an “open cell foam” design sleeping pad. That means it has thin foam inside interior sections which you fill with air for a thicker, more cushioned effect. Get a group of campers and backpackers together and (sooner or later) a fierce fight will erupt about the relative merits of open cell foam pads VS solid foam VS old-style inflatables. Eventually the “discussion” will probably come to blows because campers and backpackers are opinionated and each one is convinced…
Nice sleep pad.
Thin but comfy I was a little worried when I got this, because it blew up very thin. It did not blow itself up, by the way; it definitely required me to blow into it. It did deflate easily, however. I took it on a 3-day backpacking trip, and found it to be fabulous. It was lightweight and rolled up really small. The thinness of the Roll somehow still distributed my weight so that all parts were supported. I didn’t feel any rocks or Twigs or anything! It was amazing. I slept better on this than I’ve ever slept…
