These straps cinch when properly threaded. These straps are great straps. I read most of the reviews before buying and found that the #1 complaint is that they do not cinch tight. They do if you know how to work them. The strap has to be properly fed through the buckle end or they will not work at all. Simply putting the strap through the buckle end will not cinch them.
