Good walkie talkie bad timepiece My parents use these to keep in touch while they are out shopping or are at home but not together. This has helped my elderly parents out a lot. The instructions almost require some sort of engineering degree. When we initially used it on channel one we had truck drivers replying to us lol. So one needs to find a different channel and turn sc (scramble) on. There are channels that are for emergency only so make sure to read the manual to insure you are not using one of those. Good looking and functioning Units. The only reason for the 3 star rating is one of the talkies was mis-wired. The scan button and the PTT button were reversed. Otherwise, the units work great. Didn’t get a chance to really test battery life as I returned mine. It is a little annoying to have to pay an extra two dollars to get new ones when the first ones were defective, but I’ll suck it up and pay the difference because the specs on these are better than the cheaper ones.
