Perfect… I purchased this cable on a whim. I gave it a 50/50 chance of working. I didn’t use the included software, so I can’t vouch for it, but then again I didn’t purchase it for the software.I used the latest version of Chirp. After I downloaded Chirp, I connected the cable to my UV-5R and laptop. After being told by the customer service person that I needed “their” cable with driver, I ordered this. Although I have two similar cables that work with my other Chinese radios. The cable is fine but there are no directions on installing drivers. The file called, “USB Data Cable readme.doc is in Chinese so that’s no help. The only driver I found in the windows 10 folder on the disc is a prolific 2032 serial to USB driver. That’s not what I need. They sent a usb cable. Terrible…
