The accordion-fold design compacts and secures with an integrated storage strap. Lightweight, closed-cell foam insulates from hard, cold surfaces. Soft, yet durable polyester fabric shell provides a comfortable sleeping surface and cleans with a shake. Good pad, but not for cold weather I ordered this as a lightweight option for a sleeping mat for my dog. My dog is an 80 pound (32 kg) lab. The first thing I noticed was that the pad is very light and packs into a reasonably small space (a built-in strap with velcro tab hold the packed pad together). The second thing I noticed is that this pad is thin. Very thin.The first time I used this pad was on an overnight trip in Lassen National Forest with a low temp of about 38 degrees F (3 C). It was a good first effort on Ruffwear’s part but…. It was great that this fits with the Highlands sleeping bag. I REALLY liked that about it. It did a great job insulating my dog from the ground and was easy to slip into the sleeve of the sleeping bag.However, this would have been a much bigger hit with me if it had been something more similar to a thermarest that would pack down much smaller. I would have liked to be able to deflate it and roll it up tiny, just like my own sleeping pad. It was also heavier than I expected it to be,…
