Great Beach Umbrella!!! Great so far. Purchased this item at a local store after reading tons of great reviews online. We purchased it the day before going to the beach on the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend. We were able to price match it to the Amazon price and got it for $40, instead of $50. This seems to be an outdated version of the Sports-Brella This product is OK, but I recommend purchasing the Sports-Brella instead. It is the same price (if you shop around), size, appearance, and functionality except it has several design improvements over the “Super” Brella. For example, the Super-Brella uses a friction lever to hold the lower umbrella pole inside the main umbrella shaft. Mine was defective upon arrival and the lower pole would just slide out. I could have fixed it by drilling a hole through the two poles and using a linch pin, but…
Holds up well but don’t use in high winds. I tried this out at home to see how easy it was to open. It’s as easy as a regular umbrella. I’ve bought beach shelters before with poles you insert into slots and they are ridiculous. The first time I tried to use this at the beach the weather on the beaches of Florida (west coast) turned ugly. The wind was stronger than anticipated. My friend and I were able to open the umbrella easily BUT due to high winds it turned inside out three times when we tried to get it staked in the ground. This…
