4.75 stars, but still worth it I bought this to go with an artificial silk liner to be a lightweight summer bag. It comes with a nice stuff sack, and is very comfortable. The zipper goes from the top all the way across the bottom edge, allowing you to open it up to use as a blanket or zip another one onto it. It has sewn-in elastic lopps on the bottom for storage once it’s rolled up.The bag is a lightweight fleece material, which doesn’t seem like it would provide any warmth. Surprisingly, it is very warm. In 55…
Pretty thin material Pretty thin material, about the thickness of a heavyweight t shirt. Its not sweatshirt heavy.I wouldn’t use it below 70 degrees for camping. On the plus sides, it does feel good against the skin. The zipper unzips all the way to the bottom, so it unfolds into a full square blanket. It is big enough to slide over my mummy bag, so it could be used as a bivy bag on the outside of a mummy bag, to add extra warmth and keep outside of bag cleaner. Or it could be used as a liner…
but being more dense seems to me to help it hold heat better (my opinion) This was bought as a sleeping bag liner to add some additional warmth for my son’s 40 degree sleeping bag, and also to act as a stand alone summer bag for BSA summer camp. It is indeed fairly thin and lightweight and I wanted it that way. It packs fairly small (51/2 by 10 in. in the uncompressed sleeve it came in) and weighs 1lb 2 oz on my scale. The material is not “fluffy” as some others have complained, but being more dense seems to me to help it hold heat better (my opinion)…
