Good pad for cold weather, small enough to backpack with. I was using a 20″ wide military pad that I got from the local Army-Navy store for $10 and I always thought sleeping pads like this one were over-priced. However, I slept on this one last night and I’m glad I spent the money. It’s not as good as a regular mattress, but the padding helps, and there is a lot of thermal advantage (the low last night was 6F and I didn’t feel any cold from the ground). The classic BaseCamp might still be the best cap-camping pad available. I use this while car camping, since it is obviously very heavy for a backpacking sleeping pad (I use a vintage Therm-a-Rest Ridge Rest for that).
